RACE 1: Chelmsford Racecourse
STORMINGIN has placed here before and a repeat of the standard seen in his Nottingham 2nd by ¾ of a length will see him go one better without much worry off the same 62 mark. TIE A YELLOWRIBBON is a course winner who remains fairly unexposed over this surface and should be thereabouts.
Top Tip – STORMINGIN (1)
One to consider – TIE A YELLOWRIBBON (9)
RACE 2: Chelmsford Racecourse
PROSILI was a pleasing runner up over track and trip last week and returning off the same 61 mark with Stefano Cherchi’s 5lb claim she can press her valid compensation claim on her preferred surface. CAFE MILANO has been threatening to open the account of late and wouldn’t be outside his rights to steal this one.
Top Tip – PROSILI (1)
One to consider – CAFE MILANO (2)
RACE 3: Chelmsford Racecourse
POWER OF STATES enters with a hat trick within reach. Hugo Palmer’s string is in fine form of late and he’s fancied to take plenty of beating at his ideal track despite the 6lb rise. YUFTEN is a well-raced 9 year old who has been showing glimpses that he’s ready to get back on the podium since joining Luke McJannet.
Top Tip – POWER OF STATES (2)
One to consider – YUFTEN (1)
RACE 4: Chelmsford Racecourse
PERFECT SUNSET ran her best to date when runner up by a length at Kempton over this trip following a wind operation. William Carver is back in the irons and she can eke out the improvement to go one better. BRUNEL’S BOY is better over 5f but has shown enough last time to suggest he could land a placing with Silvestre De Sousa’s steady hand steering.
Top Tip – PERFECT SUNSET (10)
One to consider – BRUNEL’S BOY (2)
RACE 5: Chelmsford Racecourse
NIGEL NOTT is a track and trip winner last seen runner up by half a length to a useful rival. Off a 1lb rise in the ratings and a drop to 5f he can find compensation. LORD RIDDIFORD enters calculations after scoring by a nose at Wolverhampton last week. The 5lb penalty will be felt but he should be there at the finish.
Top Tip – NIGEL NOTT (4)
One to consider – LORD RIDDIFORD (1)
RACE 6: Chelmsford Racecourse
SMOKEY has placed the last twice after landing a rock-solid 5f hat trick. She’s a track and trip winner who should be too good for this lot. INDIAN PURSUIT was 4th behind the selection last week over course and distance and should be able to keep her honest and bring home a minor cheque.
Top Tip – SMOKEY (1)
One to consider – INDIAN PURSUIT (5)
RACE 7: Chelmsford Racecourse
HIGHFIELD PRINCESS is up 3lb for a close runner up finish over track and trip after scoring narrowly herself on penultimate start here. She’s still competitive at an 80 rating and should be the one to beat. JOHNNY REB is wildcard after placing in his last 4 including a 6f win at Kempton on penultimate start. He’s certainly within rights to press his own claim on this one.
Top Tip – HIGHFIELD PRINCESS (1)
One to consider – JOHNNY REB (5)
