RACE 1: Newcastle Racecourse
FAIR STAR was denied a hat trick by a short head over 12f at Wolverhampton and connections have decided to rapidly turn him out in search of compensation. He remains 2lb well-in and should be ridden more aggressively now down in trip. KING OF THE SOUTH came back from 242 days off to score narrowly on yard bow for William Knight and is entitled to shoot for two now up 6lb.
Top Tip – FAIR STAR (1)
One to consider – KING OF THE SOUTH (4)
RACE 2: Newcastle Racecourse
BUDANOVA was a superb 33/1 runner up on handicap debut only half a length from the winner over track and trip. Handed a 2lb rise with Hollie Doyle booked this Archie Watson runner won’t have to dig too deep to go one better. CALONNE was the winner that day and will not go down without a fight but is more exposed and will have to work to confirm the placings.
Top Tip – BUDANOVA (11)
One to consider – CALONNE (3)
RACE 3: Newcastle Racecourse
VIOLET WARDA was a promising debutante when 3rd over track and trip last month. Willie Haggas’ string is in fine form of late and she should be able to turn the experience into an open account on 2nd start. TIGERHON was runner up on his own course and distance debut a month back and will keep the selection honest with win claims of his own.
Top Tip – VIOLET WARDA (14)
One to consider – TIGERHON (8)
RACE 4: Newcastle Racecourse
PATSY FAGAN is long due a maiden win and the straight 6f run at this course should pay dividends off an unchanged 60 mark. FIRCOMBE HALL has placed the last twice including runner up over track and trip on penultimate start. He should contest the finish off san unchanged 52 with Hollie Doyle in the irons.
Top Tip – PATSY FAGAN (7)
One to consider – FIRCOMBE HALL (10)
RACE 5: Newcastle Racecourse
GOWANLAND notched a double when home by a neck on handicap bow over this trip at Wolverhampton. Up a mere 3lb for the effort the hat trick is within reach for this 3 year old colt with a bright future. JUAN LES PINS scored with plenty left in the tank when home by 3+ over this trip. He’s now racing for Ed Dunlop and should be able to continue progression with Tom Marquand back in the saddle.
Top Tip – GOWANLAD (10)
One to consider – JUAN LES PINS (3)
RACE 6: Newcastle Racecourse
BRINGITONBORIS has a beautiful track and trip hat trick firm in his sights and is up a mere 2lb for the efforts. He can strike while the iron is hot and secure the pleasing accolade. DAWAALEEB is also up 2lb for a track and tri victory but might have to settle for second fiddle.
Top Tip – BRINGITONBORIS (10)
One to consider – DAWAALEEB (3)
RACE 7: Newcastle Racecourse
SILENT HUNTER returns from over 2 years off and this Godolphin colt should be well-prepared and ready to strike hard and fast. KELLS was third over this trip in first-time cheekpieces when last seen at Thurles and now joins Mick Appleby. This is his AW debut and any money his way is of note.
Top Tip – SILENT HUNTER (2)
One to consider – KELLS (5)
RACE 8: Newcastle Racecourse
CRANTOCK BAY was denied by a neck when 2nd over track and trip last month. Upped 2lb for the effort he’s got compensation claims aplenty and remains fairly treated to make things right. FIRST RESPONSE was within half a length of the front when 3rd over 8f here and the drop in trip can see him in the mix once more.
Top Tip – CRANTOCK BAY (6)
One to consider – FIRST RESPONSE (2)
RACE 9: Newcastle Racecourse
NUBOUGH remains well-treated off a 69 mark and while he has to answer for his latest Southwell 8th, he was doing excellent work before then and is afforded a chance to bounce back. HERRINGSWELL is a main danger after scoring over track and trip on yard bow for Henry Spiller but the 7lb rise can see her vulnerable to the selection’s hopeful comeback bid.
Top Tip – NUBOUGH (4)
One to consider – HERRINGSWELL (6)
