RACE 1: Sandown Racecourse
SUR MER has run outside the money in only 1 of 8 starts and shed the maiden tag nicely at Winsor last time. Up a fair 3lb for the effort she’s fancied to have plenty up her sleeve today. SARAS HOPE made good on her own threats to score when home by a nose at Goodwood last month. She can make a big dent with a good run.
Top Tip – SUR MER (7)
One to consider – SARAS HOPE (8)
RACE 2: Sandown Racecourse
TOP BRASS was a pleasing 4th on debut here over 7f and now upped in trip could find the spoils waiting. MARINE is the debutant for Andrew Balding who won this last time and the 400,000 Euro price tag suggests we have a good specimen to watch here.
Top Tip – TOP BRASS (11)
One to consider – MARINE (6)
RACE 3: Sandown Racecourse
EBNZAIDOON gets the nod on debut as representative of John Godsen and sports 4 winning half-siblings and a hefty $825,000 asking price. BEASTIE BOY was a decent 5th on debut at Kempton and can go much better with the benefit of experience.
Top Tip – EBNZAIDOON (5)
One to consider – BEASTIE BOY (1)
RACE 4: Sandown Racecourse
MONTATHAM has been progressive all year and has won 3 of his 4 runs this year. Now upped 5lb for his latest score the hat trick is well-within reach. EPIC HERO was touched off by half a length on season comeback at York and now back at the mile is entitled to find compensation but will likely settle for another silver.
Top Tip – MONTATHAM (3)
One to consider – EPIC HERO (2)
RACE 5: Sandown Racecourse
SPARKLING OLLY gets the nod after a short rest and this trip winner is fancied to do plenty of damage from barrier 3 with a mark of 80 probably underestimating her. AROHA has been knocking hard at the door, landing 2nd the last thrice and could burst through at any time.
Top Tip – SPARKLING OLLY (6)
One to consider – AROHA (2)
RACE 6: Sandown Racecourse
BAARRIJ returned to the scoreboard by a neck last time at Ripon and a drop in trip with Ryan Moore aboard is a good looking approach for a pleasing double. JUNKANOO scored in similar going on penultimate start and is entitled to bounce back from a misfire in the soft at Goodwood last time.
Top Tip – BAARRIJ (2)
One to consider – JUNKANOO (3)
RACE 7: Sandown Racecourse
ROSE GREY has been on the podium in all 3 starts and now making handicap bow off a mark of 72 can step into the spotlight on 4th attempt. SPRING GLOW showed a lot of improvement when runner up by a length and a quarter at Chelmsford last time and she’s well-treated at 70 on her handicap debut.
Top Tip – ROSE GREY (1)
One to consider – SPRING GLOW (5)
