RACE 1: Sedgefield Racecourse
TOMMY’S OSCAR is well-raced between the flags, winning his final start in that sphere. He was a good runner up on bumper debut and can build on that nicely now going hurdling. SHE’SONEOFOUROWN had to settle for 3rd on hurdle bow after a mistake on the last saw her lose 2nd position. She can make amends today and should be able to secure another placing.
Top Tip – TOMMY’S OSCAR (11)
One to consider – SHE’SONEOFOUROWN (12)
RACE 2: Sedgefield Racecourse
CATCHMEIFYOUCAN has a hat trick within reach after excellent wins at Market Rasen and Doncaster. Upped a further 3lb she’s got Cillin Leonard’s 7lb claim dampening things nicely and she is perfectly weighted to score this despite the dropped trip. AT FIRST GLANCE rewarded favourite backers with a 2 length win at Southwell last month and could have more to come now up a fair 4lb.
Top Tip – CATCHMEIFYOUCAN (2)
One to consider – AT FIRST GLANCE (3)
RACE 3: Sedgefield Racecourse
GEORGE RIDSDALE is a useful flat operator who opened the hurdle account on 2nd attempt. Last seen victorious by 3 lengths on the flat at Newcastle he’s well-treated at 105 and has plenty more in him at 4 years old. CASH AGAIN made all last time but had to settle for 4th here a month ago. Dropped in trip and fitted with first-time cheekpieces he can sharpen up plenty despite the 2lb rise.
Top Tip – GEORGE RIDSDALE (2)
One to consider – CASH AGAIN (5)
RACE 4: Sedgefield Racecourse
QUICK PICK is better than we have seen in his 2 starts this year. First-time cheekpieces and the booking of Brian Hughes can see them make the most of the generous 3lb drop given by the assessor. THE LATE LEGEND demands respect having won 3 of his last 4 and Luke Scott’s 7lb claim gives him a very competitive edge at the weights.
Top Tip – QUICK PICK (1)
One to consider – THE LATE LEGEND (2)
RACE 5: Sedgefield Racecourse
SHANTOU EXPRESS has done little wrong in 6 starts with a win over hurdles and in a bumper. Throw in 3rd in a Listed bumper a year back and the 23 length romp at Exeter last time and you have a powerful operator who can win another before heading to bigger and better things. FINISK RIVER was unfortunate to fall at Cheltenham last time and this is a much less testing task for him. He’s entitled to bounce back and is a very good hurdler who demands respect.
Top Tip – SHANTOU EXPRESS (2)
One to consider – FINISK RIVER (1)
RACE 6: Sedgefield Racecourse
OSCAR WILDE needed the run when 9th on season comeback at Carlisle. A workable 5th at Leicester last month he’s got plenty more to come and the 3lb drop leaves his rating only 1lb higher than his January win here. FRANCE DE REVE was not disgraced when 5th of 5 on chase debut and actually held on quite well. A drop in trip can see her develop nicely and perhaps pick up the silver medal with an honest run.
Top Tip – OSCAR WILDE (4)
One to consider – FRANCE DE REVE (1)
RACE 7: Sedgefield Racecourse
HARDE FASHION chased home a very useful rival on debut at Stratford who left him 9 lengths back in 2nd. He can go one better having learned plenty from the run and this course should play to his strengths. NATIVE CHOICE showed plenty to work with when 4th on debut at Carlisle and Brian Hughes in the irons inspires plenty of confidence.
Top Tip – HARDE FASHION (2)
One to consider – NATIVE CHOICE (5)
