KRAKA is turned out rapidly after scoring over track and trip last week. A 5lb penalty looks unlikely to stop him striking while the iron is hot. PUCHITA has been holding form well here of late and can manage a minor cheque.
Top Tip – KRAKA (2)
One to consider – PUCHITA (1)
RACE 2: Southwell Racecourse
NORTHERN CHARM had plenty of trouble in the run last time over course and distance but managed to finish 2nd. Now a bit wiser for the experience and likely to have a better run she can go one better. GLOBAL MELODY was the winner in the aforementioned contest but will struggle to follow up under 5lb penalty.
Top Tip – NORTHERN CHARM (4)
One to consider – GLOBAL MELODY (1)
RACE 3: Southwell Racecourse
RUSSCO is the only runner of the field with local experience which is always useful on fibresand. He was last seen 5th of 6 at Chester but was not too far back and can come forward plenty for the experience. JEBEL DUKHAN was an eye-catching 5th at 80/1 odds over this trip at Kempton and could go much better if he takes to fibresand.
Top Tip – RUSSCO (4)
One to consider – JEBEL DUKHAN (2)
RACE 4: Southwell Racecourse
LEAPERS WOOD is appealing now down in trip after being touched off by half a length at Redcar. He’s fancied to find compensation with a similar effort. KING OF STARS has first-time cheekpieces applied and could get back to the progression we saw in Ireland.
Top Tip – LEAPERS WOOD (4)
One to consider – KING OF STARS (3)
RACE 5: Southwell Racecourse
ASTRO JAKK is 2 from 2 over course and distance and can bounce back after failing to fire over 5f at Haydock in June. EXALTED ANGEL was last sighted victorious over track and trip in March and off a 4lb rise can bid for the double if not too rusty.
Top Tip – ASTRO JAKK (1)
One to consider – EXALTED ANGEL (5)
RACE 6: Southwell Racecourse
THAWRY returns under penalty after a powerful 8 ½ length victory over course and distance last week. He can strike again before a revised rating can anchor his aspirations. BADESSA makes handicap bow on 3rd start following 358 days off and could prove useful if she takes to the surface.
Top Tip – THAWRY (3)
One to consider – BADESSA (1)
RACE 7: Southwell Racecourse
NINE ELMS won over course and distance on penultimate start and was not disgraced when 4th on follow up bid at Newcastle last month. Retaining the 57 mark he can land back on top. GEOGRAPHY TEACHER was home by a neck over track and trip last week and under penalty is within rights to seek a double.
Top Tip – NINE ELMS (8)
One to consider – GEOGRAPHY TEACHER (9)
RACE 8: Southwell Racecourse
ROBERO is a 3 time track winner, 2 of them over this trip and he is of note partnered with Ben Curtis instead of an apprentice. JOHN CLARE won in style with 3+ in hand at Leicester last time and if he takes to the course can prove useful with a 7lb claimer handling the penalty.
Top Tip – ROBERO (4)
One to consider – JOHN CLARE (6)
