RACE 1: Fairview Racecourse
ADMIRAL’S SHINE chased home a smart rival on debut over 4f here at 12/1 odds. He wasn’t able to land a blow but his spirit and dash should see him go one better on 2nd start, with the extra furlong likely to suit. CRUZADOR is of interest on debut as a stablemate to the selection, any money his way warrants a closer look.
Top Tip – ADMIRAL’S SHINE (1)
One to consider – CRUZADOR (2)
RACE 2: Fairview Racecourse
GLOBAL DRUMMER has won 6 of his 8 starts and was not disgraced last time when 2nd against older rivals. Now back with his own age over his ideal track and trip he should bounce back nicely. BLOOM has won gold or silver in all 5 career runs and should put up some fierce resistance. She’s headed to bigger and better things and is well treated at the weights to give the selection plenty of grief.
Top Tip – GLOBAL DRUMMER (1)
One to consider – BLOOM (6)
RACE 3: Fairview Racecourse
IRON HENRY makes local/yard debut for Juan Nel following a 75 day spell. He’s a progressive sort who looks ready to step through and shed the maiden tag. TOUREIRO has been thereabouts the last twice and should have a say at the finish with turf seemingly his ideal surface.
Top Tip – IRON HENRY (1)
One to consider – TOUREIRO (4)
RACE 4: Fairview Racecourse
BEETHOVEN is a 4 time course and distance winner who usually brings his best. Last seen beaten into 2nd over 7f here a drop back down can see him compensated nicely. AMBRA hasn’t won one in a while but looks like a useful enough type to find a place on the podium with an honest bid.
Top Tip – BEETHOVEN (1)
One to consider – AMBRA (2)
RACE 5: Fairview Racecourse
LA BELLA MIA was 4+ lengths back when beaten by GIN FIZZ on penultimate start. She’s now far better off at the weights and paired with a 6lb claimer. She’s expected to show up ready to go and find her situation conductive to a reversal of the result. GIN FIZZ will seek to defend the result on her 2nd start of Alan Greeff. She’s down at the weights but has plenty of spirit and scope so should put up fierce resistance.
Top Tip – LA BELLA MIA (1)
One to consider – GIN FIZZ (2)
RACE 6: Fairview Racecourse
AFRICA’S GOLD has come into his own since joining Alan Greeff with this track being very useful to this 7 year old. He’s won 3 of 6 starts here and a return to the turf can see him compensated following a ¾ length defeat over 11f on the AW here. ARANJUEZ is useful over both surfaces and if he picks up where he left off now back over turf he can contest the finish.
Top Tip – AFRICA’S GOLD (2)
One to consider – ARANJUEZ (4)
RACE 7: Fairview Racecourse
EARTH HOUR has struck a ripe vein of form of late and should not be inconvenienced by a return to turf following some superb efforts on the AW here. Expect another convincing effort from a veteran with plenty left in the tank. ROCK ALOE is 3 from 3 over this trip including one over course and distance. He can give the selection plenty to think about now back from 2 months off.
Top Tip – EARTH HOUR (1)
One to consider – ROCK ALOE (2)
RACE 8: Fairview Racecourse
KING OF THE MOMENT has been slowly coming to the boil and his latest 4th over this trip at Kenilworth was pleasing enough to warrant consideration today. He has the scope and today’s raid could prove most fruitful for Glen Kotzen’s charge. TAKE THE WORLD was just over 2 lengths back when 6th on local debut over 5f. A return to the mile might see him sharpen enough to find a placing.
Top Tip – KING OF THE MOMENT (1)
One to consider – TAKE THE WORLD (2)
