RACE 1: Greyville Racecourse
ALWAYSONMYMIND has made marked improvement since shifting to Scottsville and the care of Peter Muscutt. Blinkers have done well for her and now making her AW bow she might be able to make the most of her speed from barrier 2. SERENA SLAM is of interest on debut for Carl Hewitson with Kyle Strydom in the irons. This colt should be prepared for a positive impression.
Top Tip – ALWAYSONMYMIND (2)
One to consider – SERENA SLAM (10)
RACE 2: Greyville Racecourse
NOEMI does excellent work late but has often disappointed whenever send off as favourite. She’s clearly a useful type over this track and trip but as with all shorter trips might make her play too late to land the prize. IRISH BELLE rattled the crossbar 4 times straight before landing the goods at Scottsville when dropped to this trip. If she takes to the poly her speedy nature will do her a world of good, especially if the selection proves costly to follow once more.
Top Tip – NOEMI (6)
One to consider – IRISH BELLE (7)
RACE 3: Greyville Racecourse
MURPHY’S STATION returns to the poly where he posted his career-best when 3rd over 7f here. The drop in trip might prove fruitful now back on this surface. He has the scope for improvement and should hopefully mature further. CRUSADE’S STAR has been progressive since joining Lowan Denysschen and being fitted with blinkers. He’s got a bit more work to do before getting the win nod but looks like a good place bet with normal improvement likely to treat him well.
Top Tip – MURPHY’S STATION (4)
One to consider – CRUSADE’S STAR (3)
RACE 4: Greyville Racecourse
WISHFUL GIRL LINN needed the first run in blinkers when 12 and showed they were working when she came back and landed 2nd over this trip on the turf. She was then returned to the poly where she managed to win despite being well-back, no easy feat on polytrack. She’s struck ripe form and should give a strong account on the hunt for the double. TUPELO HONEY has landed back to back silver medals here including the first time over this trip. She should find herself right amongst it.
Top Tip – WISHFUL GIRL LINN (1)
One to consider – TUPELO HONEY (10)
RACE 5: Greyville Racecourse
TRIP TO AFRICA has a lot of weight to weather following back to back C&D wins that were topped off by a solid 5th place in a Listed Race at Scottsville. He’s in peak form and should have plenty more to come now back on the polytrack where he has done his best work. CALIENTE is a very useful track and trip winner who has been knocking hard at the door of late. He can find another placing or even upset he selection with a strong bid.
Top Tip – TRIP TO AFRICA (3)
One to consider – CALIENTE (2)
RACE 6: Greyville Racecourse
ARROW’S MARK relished the reapplication of blinkers when he reopened the account over a similar trip last month. He stormed home by 6+ lengths and is fancied to make another strong go at it from barrier 3. RUN TO DENMARK likes to set the pace in his appearances and he’s in top form of late. HE should be in the mix and can even fight it out with the selection if the pace is allowed to suit.
Top Tip – ARROW’S MARK (3)
One to consider – RUN TO DENMARK (2)
RACE 7: Greyville Racecourse
RALPH THE RASCAL has landed back to back bronze medals over this trip on turf and looks set for another score now back on the poly. He’s sharpening up rather quickly and can land another like this before moving to bigger and better things. QUATTRO PASSI is a front-running sort who has landed in the money in his last 11 starts. His last couple of appearances saw him bested by some classy sorts, and this weaker field could provide a confidence boost.
Top Tip – RALPH THE RASCAL (4)
One to consider – QUATTRO PASSI (5)
RACE 8: Greyville Racecourse
MEET AT THE GEORGE is a trip winner who ran into some strong rivals on poly bow over C&D. The experience should see her sharper and if the wide draw can be overcome she has a fair chance to land the goods. STATE OF MIND was a pleasing 4th over the mile on turf here and a return to the poly where she won her sole start by 5+ could prove a rewarding decision.
Top Tip – MEET AT THE GEORGE (9)
One to consider – STATE OF MIND (8)
